And Baby Makes Five . . .

Well, this post makes five baby quilt posts, anyway.  This quilt went to a coworker who was having her first baby.  She has waited a while to become a mother, so she needed something special.  Again, color choices were hers - which is why it looks similar to the others color-wise.

Miss Ellie Mo

One of my daughter's dearest friends had a baby girl earlier this year, Elizabeth Morgan - Ellie Mo.  My oldest daughter's name is Morgan, so Miss Ellie Mo is her namesake.  Clearly, Ellie Mo needed a sweet little baby quilt.

I thought this fabric line was a Riley Blake line called Butterfly Dance, but when I Google that phrase, a different fabric line shows up.  I will update this post if I find out.  Frankly, most of the quilts I post use fabric lines from several years ago, so I don't expect them to be available anymore anyway.  I keep having goals to catch up, get on top of things.  It's not going well.  But I keep plugging along.  Maybe someday.

I used Amanda Jean's Flea Market Fancy pattern and scaled it down for a baby size.

Little Brother, Big Brother.

A good friend at work had her second boy.  So naturally, Big Brother needed a quilt also.  You can see that there is a blue/gray theme going with the boy babies this year.  The color choices were at the parents' requests.

More contrast against the floor.  No pattern - I just kind of winged it.

Feast or Famine

The only baby girl to have been born to coworkers this year - Baby Girl Beckham (Becky) - received this quilt, which sports the very last scraps of my Nicey Jane fabric (Heather Bailey).  And after Googling it to provide the link, I see there is still some available.  Who knew?  I feel an urge to purchase more now.  Anyone with me?

In which I return once again . . .

I had every intention of blogging regularly once I finished law school.  Clearly, I have fallen short.  There were a spate of babies born this year to coworkers, so I made a bunch of baby quilts.  This is the first - navy and gray pluses.  I wish I would have done more pluses instead of the plain cream border - had the pluses go right up to the edge.  I am planning to do a larger quilt with red pluses (crosses, I guess) - a Red Cross quilt - and I will do that one without the border.  The parents were pleased with this quilt, and that is all I want.
